One thing that has surprised me about Austin is how large the deaf and blind communities are. One thing that always amazes me is watching blind people cross the street. I'm not talking two lane. This is like adult swim, six lanes during lunch hour, with no sight! Somehow they make it across.
It really makes me wonder how much these people place their faith in other people. They have to trust that the light won't change, that people won't run them over and that buses won't squash them like ants. It blows me away every time.
I also think it's crazy that whales can live 215 years.
